On behalf of my team and our families, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all of you for practicing safe distancing and increased social responsibility. You have helped keep yourselves, the children, our team and all of our families safe.
The newest measures released by the Singapore government on 24th of March 2020 have undoubtedly increased fears and anxiety among us. With some of the measures seemingly related to our service of providing swimming lessons, I called the Ministry of Health's (MOH) Emergency Covid-19 Hotline for some clarity on the situation.
This is what I've confirmed:
There is (still) no evidence that Covid-19 can be transmitted through swimming pools. (Source: https://www.nea.gov.sg/our-services/public-cleanliness/environmental-cleaning-guidelines/frequently-asked-questions)
Swimrific DOES NOT qualify as a tuition and enrichment centre as we do not own or operate our own centre (not centre-based). Instead, our teachers travel to your residence to conduct your swim class.
Swimrific's group classes are kept small (a maximum of 5 students per class) with students residing on the same property. This is in-line with the latest measures of keeping gatherings to 10 or less.
With these queries answered, I am happy to announce that Swimrific is still able to continue providing swim lessons (for now), keeping in-line with our government's recommendations.
We would like to keep teaching for as long as we can; and, fully intend to do so; to keep some form of normalcy in your family's lives during these disruptive, uncertain times. As such, allow me to reiterate some general pointers as well as Swimrific's measures as mentioned in my previous post.
IF YOU ARE UNWELL, PLEASE SEE A DOCTOR AND STAY HOME!
GENERALLY, STAY HOME AS MUCH AS YOU CAN
Go out if you need to work, go to school, go out for essential tasks
Reduce social gatherings and all other activities
In light of swimming lessons, we ask that you arrive at the swimming pool in time for the commencement of your class and return home straight after getting out of the pool. Avoid loitering by the poolside to minimise your contact with outdoor surfaces and keep a safe distance from each other if you're watching your child swim from the poolside / deck.
DECLARE YOUR TRAVEL HISTORY
If you have travelled, we ask that you do not attend class for at least 14 days from the date of your arrival in Singapore.
TAKE YOUR TEMPERATURE
Please take your temperature! (taking the temperatures of everyone in your household would be fantastic too!). For transparency, we ask that you furnish your respective Whatsapp groups (Group class) or your swim teacher (Private class) with the recorded temperatures of everyone getting into the pool (For infant and toddler classes, Yes! Moms and dads. You guys too!)
For the safety and continuity of our business, our teachers reserve the right to turn you away if you have not submitted your temperature.
SHOWER AND DISINFECT
Get a shower as soon as possible to remove chlorine and germs from your body. Remember to wash your hands often and disinfect where possible.
With all that said and done, if you and your family prefer to cancel classes til the situation eases, I totally understand and fully support your decision. Adapting to unknown situations Covid-19 has put us all in, Swimrific is happy to cancel your class without any charges. For those who have pre-paid classes, you will be able to claim these when class commence.
If you've got queries OR if you'd like to put swim class on hold, contact us through email at hello@swimrific.com or Whatsapp at +65 81611208 and we'll get back as soon as we can.
Be smart. Stay safe. God bless.
